Roca never disappoints. We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Wiedel! Could not have been a more beautiful day.

The Trip to the Real Zoo

Besides it being so busy on a Thursday, it was perfect weather and we had a GREAT time on our annual trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo. Noah really was interested this year! He was probably pooped, but he cried all the way to the van because he didn't want to go. But as soon as he got in his chair and we were on the road, he was asleep. Aunalie really liked the animals too, but she fell asleep in the gorillas. Overall, it was pretty darn fun!

Lovely Love my Family

I can't believe we got this candid. It's very hard to get pictures with both kids looking at the camera, let alone both of them smiling.
Noah just turned THREE on May 2nd. We had a GREAT party for him. His cake is a turtle... hopefully, that is obvious. I think the hit of the cake were the candy rocks that surrounded the turtle. At least Grandma Karen really liked them. Noah loved his party and had a great time with cousins and friends. Shawn made him a water table which he plays with pretty much every day. It's going to be so great when the days are really hot. If we can only convince him to stop putting the puppy in it! :) Grandma Chris also made him his very own CAPE that has his initial on it. He LOVES it and wants to wear it all the time.
This is from Easter, but I haven't updated for a while. We dyed eggs again this year and Noah had a blast. He really likes to eat the hard-boiled eggs, but he likes to crack them even more. It's confusing to him when I tell him he can't crack the raw eggs. As for Easter, he really didn't care about the egg hunt. I guess I'm glad he doesn't care. I will take that over getting upset about the hunt any day!
Here's silly Cecilia and Aunalie. Cecilia is turning 5 this year and has been the sweetest little girl possible (and so SO smart, not that I'm biased). She and Noah are really great buds and play so well together. Probably because Noah loves Cecilia and thinks she's the greatest!! Aunalie thinks cousin Cecilia is pretty awesome too.
Here we are again. My friend Robyn put up the best post on her blog about being a mother. I really want to cut and paste it, but I won't. Anyway, it's so great to have friends like her. So if you want to know how I feel about being a mother, check out her blog! Some days I am overwhelmed with the responsibilities, the cleaning, and the struggles that just come along with a toddler and a tweener. But EVERY day I'm overwhelmed with the blessings God has given our family.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

I love doing these side-by-side pictures to compare. As you can see, Aunalie is definitely her own little self. What a personality this little girl has. Just a little update, she is now about 14 months old... she's not quite walking, which is confusing because she refuses to go down the stairs any other way but by standing. She's talking up a storm (at least in baby babbling) but my mom and I are pretty sure she said Gah-ma the other day and reached for Grandma. She says ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba, puh-pah (puppy), wa-wa (noah) and noo-noo-noo (no-no). I don't remember Noah talking as much, but she's a girl, so that explains it. She's teething, but that seems to be continuous since she was about 5 months old. Some days are worse than others, but at least she cut her 7th tooth a week or so ago. There will be more to come, hopefully... but I thought since I actually have a minute to breath and I finished watching the first season of Glee, I could actually do something like post a picture of my little diva. She is doing great and is so sweet!

Amy's Baby Shower

This is from my friend Amy's shower. I made the cake for her (above). It was really fun and she is getting closer to being ready to have her baby! She is due April 29th.

Quote of the Month (Feb. 2010)

I (Carrie) was in the bathroom experiencing what only several other mothers can relate to, trying to go with kids all around me. When I shouted out, "Shawn, help!" Noah goes, "I have an idea, I can wipe mommy's bottom!" That is definitely original and also very thoughtful, but that's not the kind of help I was thinking of. It was SO funny!
