The Scribner Family: What's On Your Mind in 2009?

Aunalie Scribner thinks so far life has made me pretty happy. Mommy and daddy make me smile a lot and I like the funny moving hairy things in our house. I have a pretty voice and love to sing, mommy says I sound like an alley cat sometimes! I don't know what that sounds like, but I bet it's real pretty. When I'm not singing, I talk to my baby. I call her BAH-BAH. I say ma-ma, da-da, gee-gee... I'm not really sure what they mean, but mommy and daddy like it. My brother likes to hug me HARD and sometimes he tackles me? He makes me laugh sometimes, but usually when he comes around, I cry. I'm so close to getting into all the fun toys and maybe someday soon, I'll catch one of those funny hairy things. And even better, I'll get away from my brother's huge bear hugs.
Noah Scribner says where's new blue Lightning A-queen? I hear that noises. Mommy hold you. Daddy, be careful, daddy! I'm sorry, Aunalie... I don't mean dat. Mommy, hide! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, Kitty scared! I eat playdoh. Fire alarm loud. I'm not tired. "Noah did you poop?" -Dad, "No, Aunalie pooped!" -Noah. I try it, I like it. Mommy kiss it. Where Aunalie go? I want crackers. NO, I NO WANT CRACKERS! ...W, X, Y and Z... now I wonder what you are, up above the world so highhhh... Mommy, where ARE YOU? And, Thank you Jesus for CAKE!
Carrie Scribner thinks I slept better the month after my daughter was born than the two months before but now I'm exhausted from carrying around my 25 pound bowling ball. Turning 30 in November was a blast and I totally rocked that Kelly Clarkson song. Staying home with two children 22 months apart has been GREAT, but of course, challenging. I'm still waiting for Noah to get sick of tackling his sister, but I love watching them play and learn at an incredible rate! I've also decided to help out with MOPS this year by being on the steering team. I really LOVE MOPS, so much so, that I actually go to two different groups. I'm really digging the basement my husband built for me and the kiddos, and I hopefully will not flood it ever again! In 2010, I look forward to first, third and 30th birthdays(Shawn's)... keeping up with people on facebook and our first family vacation (since Aunalie joined us last March) to Minnesota AND/or Colorado!
Shawn Scribner can't believe how busy he is all the time. I'm either working on the house, changing poopy diapers or putting my face on Zach from Saved by the Bell. I'm entering year 3 of working for Bosch and like it a LOT. I mostly finished the basement (bathroom still in progress) and was only slightly upset to come home two weeks after the carpet was installed to see it mildly flooded. I am hoping in 2010 my son will start to help out around the house with cleaning, snow shoveling, and mowing. I really just hope my son stops trying to eat dirt, playdoh, and chalk and stops smashing things into his sisters head. I love watching Noah play with all the neighborhood boys, he loves playing with other kids even if he has never met them before, he has a very outgoing personality. Aunalie is my little princess, her laugh makes my day.

Merry Christmas from Shawn, Carrie, Noah and Aunalie! Have a GREAT year in 2010! God Bless!

That's HILARIOUS!

I got more footage of this on our camcorder... but Aunalie was cracking up over Noah and these butterflies! It was pretty funny.

We've got poles!

In a couple of weeks, we'll have a fence AND a usuable basement! Can't WAIT!

Noah at 2 years and 3 months?

Here's Noah watching Hebron's 4th of July Parade. No offense to Hebron, but I always thought the parade was lame because all it is is firetrucks, tractors and cars. Turns out this was Noah's personal heaven. Not to mention the candy and free watermelon. I can safely say that I have never seen my son so engaged in something as he was here. It was the first time in his life he sat and watched something for an extended period of time. So, thank you Hebron parade... thank you.

Here's our chubby bunny! She knows she needs to be big so she can fight off her brother's bear hugs and dead head.

Fun Water Park

For all the families out there who are looking for a fun water park, I suggest Columbus, Nebraska. It's VERY kid friendly and adult friendly. There is a gradual incline so the small ones can go in slowly, along with a few little slides and swings for infants/toddlers. There's also a lazy river for everyone and then a few bigger slides (for people 4' tall)! It's UBER fun and really a nice little place. Kids 4 and under are FREE!
Every year, we head up to Columbus to visit aunts, cousins and grandmas and go swimming for a day, and it's really nice. Kids have so much fun! Even the kids from Colorado look forward to the water park. Check out pics below!

Princess Aunalie and Princess Noah??

Here's Noah with his Cheerleading outfit on and his stroller. :) I guess "when in Rome..." you dress like a girl?

Happy Birthday Cecilia!

Cecilia: "Happy Birthday TO MEEEEE!" I guess my mom overheard her saying, "I couldn't believe I was going to be four! Had to keep asking my mom!" She is such a character!

Tiara's are for girls.... Crazy sparkly hats are for boys, then!

Grandpa Wiedel had a LOT of fun at Lost in Fun. He had to rest and hold Aunalie for a while.
I think the bubble machine was a hit. Noah tried to eat the bubbles... thanks to Grandpa.
Those blow up things are fun, but exhausting! I don't know how Noah did it for like an hour! I was so tired after being in there for 15 minutes!

Quote of the Week-June 25th

Cecilia to Noah (on her 4th birthday): "Would you like to come into our kingdom? It's full of KINDNESS!"

Looks like trouble

Carter: "Let's go punch our brother and sister in the face"
Noah: "Sounds good to me!"

Aunalie at Three Months

This is our super happy bowling ball! WEEEEEE! We went to weigh her this past week, she weighed 15 lbs 13.6 ounces. That was on an empty stomach, so I fed her and weighed her again (also to see how much she was getting in one sitting), and she weighed 16 lbs 1 ounce or something like that. So, she is doing well. She's very happy and VERY curious about the world, much like her brother IS... *sigh*... but this time around, Noah can show her the ropes and maybe mom and dad can take a breather every once in a while OR maybe when they graduate from High School, whatever. :)

Click on Pic Below

Hey all, I'm still learning here, but if you want to see SOME pictures of our summer, click on the picture of Noah sitting in the sandbox and it will take you to some more pictures. I grabbed only a few from each adventure we've had this summer. I can't believe it's already almost July! With this weather, it feels like we are only starting May.

Some events in the pictures include: The Omaha Zoo, going swimming in Hebron AND seeing a firetruck (in fact, getting our own personal tour!!), the Lincoln Zoo and riding the pony (which he surprisingly wasn't a huge fan of once he started moving), fun dressing up with daddy's clothes and having fun with a cardboard box, which he reminds me constantly that the hundred's of dollars we have spent on toys was a waste! Ha ha.

More on Aunalie, she is getting HUGE and more active. She's starting to remind me of her brother and wanting more attention. She's grabbing at lots of toys and babbling all the time. She's definitely daddy's princess!

More to come...

Lots to Update...

It's been almost a MONTH since I've updated this thing. There's so much we've done in that month, but mostly it's involved going OUTSIDE! Outside in many parks, both zoo's and mostly our neighborhood. More pictures to come.. once I have a chance to be inside.

Aunalie at Two Months

This is One Month vs. Two Months. She's 11 lbs in month one and 13.5 in month two. Not a huge difference, but you can see there is definitely more chin in the second month... and less hair. :)

Something is not quite right... with mommy!

Mom: "Noah, do you have a pretty flower in your hair?"
Noah: "Garbage Truck!"

Caption Contest Winner is Shawn!!

This picture just screams for a caption and Shawn came up with:

Aunalie: Why does mom trust you sitting next to me? She has to know that in 10 seconds you are going to go bat shit crazy and hit me in the face.

Noah: 10 seconds? That's optimistic.
