Fun Pictures
Bathtime: We were having fun with our hair in the bathtub... really, we were. Noah just wants to see the camera because he LOVES looking at himself. He just doesn't realize that he needs to pose first! :)
Pretty flowers: "Smell the flowers, Noah," said mom. "I will smell them through my forehead," thought Noah.
Aunalie and Shawn: Here's daddy loving on his daughter. I think she actually has HIM wrapped around HER fingers!
Big Eyes: I get lots of pictures of Aunalie when she is awake during the day... since her awake time during the day is short. Not that I'm complaining! (except for when she makes up for it at 1:45a.m.)
Sunbathing beauty: I love this picture. She was sunbathing again and had to strike a pose. It was too cute!

Sunbathing (for Jaundice)
Here is Aunalie getting a tan... actually, she's trying to hopefully kick this jaundice thing. So far she doesn't need the "glow worm" belt that Noah wore. Noah wanted to be cool too and wear his sunglasses.

The History of "Aunalie Ryann"
Lots of people have asked us where we got the name Aunalie, so I thought we would share our deepest secret. Shawn and I have a love of "America's Next Top Model". Annaleigh was a top three finalist in Cycle 11.

That is where we first heard the name, which was shortly before we found out we were having a girl. The only problem I had with the name was that people called her Anna-Lee (because of the spelling Annaleigh) and she had to correct them by saying Ah-na-lee. One morning, when I wasn't sleeping, due to pregnancy... it hit me that Audrey (another name I love!) had the sound that we wanted everyone to use when pronouncing our daughter's name. Hence, the spelling is Aunalie. We choose to use "ie" instead of "eigh" because it is similar to my name, Carrie. SO, we did NOT invent the name, we only sort of got creative with the spelling... sort of.
As for Ryann... Aunalie's middle name WAS going to be Rae. However, my cousin Curtis Ray Wiedel had a daughter about a month ago and named her Olivia Rae. When we told them we had picked the same middle name, he informed me that it was HIS middle name. That's where we got the idea to use Shawn's middle name Ryan as Aunalie's middle name, but again change the spelling so that it looks a little more feminine.
As for nicknames, we only have one created by Noah... when we ask him what the baby's name is, he says, "Aunie" pronounced Ah-knee. Otherwise, we just call her princess. :)
